Welcome to Pūriri Cottage

We're a real cottage with a really big, really old pūriri tree (and a lovely wee retail shop).

Only the best trees were felled, leaving the gnarled pūriri often found on farm paddocks.

And so we come to the cottage next to the remaining pūriri - the farm cottage on the hills of Hemi Matenga, Waikanae, Kāpiti; below the house that was built for Hemi Matenga Waipunahau and Huria Matenga (picture below of the house that is now known as Dr Doctor's house).

Nowadays we're kaitiaki of both the farm cottage and the New Zealand mahogany, oak or teak tree.

And it's from the cottage that we bring you a range of gifts, treats and yumminess. You can find us in Waikanae, Kāpiti in Hira Street. You'll find us opposite the school hall. We'd love to see you - hope you pop by soon.
